1. Introduction

Engage is a next-generation research panel operated by PulseIQ Labs, Inc.
We invite participants (“panelists,” “you,” or “your”) to share their perspectives through short voice conversations and optional connected data sources (e.g., purchase or browsing data) in exchange for rewards.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information from and about panelists, and the rights and choices you have.

By participating in Engage, you acknowledge that you’ve read and understood this Policy.

2. What We Collect

a. Information You Provide

Account and Profile Information — such as your name, contact information, demographic details, and verification data (e.g., LinkedIn, phone number).
Voice, Video, and Transcripts — we collect recordings of your conversations within the Engage app, and may generate transcripts or analyses (e.g., summaries, sentiment analysis).
Connected Data Sources — when you authorize connections (e.g., your bank transactions, browsing activity, email receipts, or health data), we receive the categories of data you approve (merchant, purchase date, amount, etc.).
Feedback and Interactions — including study responses, ratings, and messages.

b. Information Collected Automatically

Device and Usage Data — such as device type, operating system, app version, and in-app behavior.
Cookies and SDKs — to remember preferences, measure engagement, and improve performance.

c. Information from Partners

Vendors & Service Providers — such as analytics, transcription, or cloud storage partners.
Research Clients — who may provide targeting criteria, study content, or stimuli for research.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

Operate Engage – to create and manage your account, deliver research studies, verify identity, issue payments, and provide customer support.
Conduct Research – to analyze responses, compile insights, and generate anonymized or aggregated reports for clients.
Improve Our Platform – to debug, analyze, and enhance app performance and user experience.
Comply With Legal Requirements – to meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Use Voice/Video for Client & Promotional Purposes – as detailed below.

4. Use of Voice, Video, and Likeness

Research Use

Your voice, image, and likeness may be recorded during research sessions.
These recordings and transcripts may be included in client deliverables, such as highlight reels, insights decks, and internal reports.
This use is part of the research service and covered under this Policy.

Promotional Use

From time to time, we may ask for separate, written consent to use your voice, video, or likeness for marketing or promotional purposes—for example, featuring short clips on our website, social media, or client showcases.
You are not required to provide this consent, and withdrawing consent will stop future promotional use.

Withdrawal

You may withdraw your promotional consent at any time for future use by contacting us at privacy@joinengage.io.
Previously produced materials will not be recalled or deleted but will not be reused in future campaigns.

5. How We Share Information

We may share your information with:

Clients – in the form of anonymized or identified insights, transcripts, or clips, depending on the study requirements and your consent.
Service Providers – for hosting, transcription, analytics, payments, and support (under strict contractual limits).
Integration Partners – when you authorize data connections (e.g., Plaid for bank data).
Legal or Corporate Events – as required by law, or in the event of a merger or acquisition.

We do not sell personal information for money.

6. Retention and Account Deletion

You can delete your Engage account at any time in the app or by contacting privacy@joinengage.io.
Once deleted:

We stop collecting any new information.
We disconnect your data sources.
We retain and continue to use previously collected data (including voice and video) that you were compensated for, to maintain research integrity and comply with law.

Where possible, we de-identify or aggregate retained data for research, analytics, and model development purposes.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access your information.
Delete or correct your data.
Withdraw consent for promotional use.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Receive a copy of your data in portable format.

We will verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

8. Notice of Financial Incentive (California Residents)

Engage offers tokens, cash rewards, and benefits in exchange for participation and optional data connections.
This constitutes a “financial incentive” under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Value of Data: The incentive’s value is based on factors such as the insights generated, the market rate for similar panels, and program costs.
Opt-In/Out: Joining Engage is voluntary. You may opt out anytime; doing so stops future collection and rewards.
Non-Discrimination: You will not be penalized for exercising privacy rights, but opting out may limit participation in some studies.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data—such as encryption, access controls, and secure cloud environments.
No system is completely secure, but we continuously work to improve protections.

10. International Data Transfers

If you’re located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
We use appropriate legal safeguards for international transfers where required.

11. Children’s Privacy

Engage is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
If changes are material, we’ll notify you through the app or by email and update the effective date.
